An editor’s letter (emailed to publicity@sfoutsidelands.com) is required for all affiliated freelance photographers and writers. We will not accept ANY applications from freelance photographers or writers who are not officially on assignment for a publication. We will not be accepting applications from filmmakers. If you are affiliated with a band, you must obtain entry and passes through that band.

College publications can send writers only. We will not be granting photo passes to college publications. Web-Based publications will only be considered for photo passes if their "Unique Viewers Per Month" exceeds 100,000 and can verify this with Compete.com, Alexa, or some other reputable web traffic tracker. Only photographers with SLR, interchangeable lens cameras will be allowed into the photo pits. There will be no 'point and shoot' cameras permitted. All of the above publications will have access to the festival photographers' pictures via http://www.sfoutsidelands.com/publicity following the festival.
